Mobile Mapping for Everyday Spaces (MMES) develops devices for use in gathering and sharing information gleaned from a walk.
MMES began in Spring 2006 as an interdisciplinary academic course, during which students created working prototypes. These devices are now being further developed into functional and reproducible experiences via simple instructions, commonly-available materials, and downloadable software.
The process by which these first prototypes were realized is also undergoing study and refinement for application in other educational and creative contexts.
